Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger Calls Bitcoin ‘Climate Crisis’, Says Upcoming Blockchain Chip Will Help Curb It

Intel is working on a blockchain chip that is claimed to reduce the environmental impact Bitcoin mining. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger says that this crypto mining chip, currently under development, will be energy efficient. Intel claims the chip to be 1000 times better in per watt performance than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining.
